Research: Film Audiences

§The target audience of a film is hugely important because it determines who watches it and who doesn't, based upon the content of the film. There are many things that can create a connection between a film and parts of its audience, like the soundtrack, the actors, themes or locations.  

Audiences vary for each film genre; therefore movies tend to contain elements that allow it to spread over several genres which helps to widen its target audience. 

The target audience can be classed and identified in many ways, for exmaple:

age

gender

social group

ethnicity

Our research has shown that thrillers are mostly particularly popular with males who are under 25. This is because thrillers are action-packed and full of suspense.
